IFS Therapy for
Young Adults

Online therapy in the San Francisco, Bay Area, and across California for young adults that feel the pressure, stress, uncertainty, and anxiety of life.

Whether you identify as Gen Z or a Millenial or somewhere in between, this life phase you’re in is a lot and you’re not alone.

Young adulthood can look exciting from the outside — new opportunities, independence, possibility.

It can also feel so overwhelming.

  • Pressure to succeed.

  • Uncertainty about identity.

  • Relationship stress.

  • Family expectations.

  • Anxiety about the future.

  • Old wounds that didn’t stay in the past.

Maybe you’re struggling with…

And this generation of young adulthood is especially challenging with all the advancements in our society and humanity.
You are on
overload

  • Chronic anxiety and nervous system overwhelm

  • Academic or career pressure in an unstable job market

  • Fear of “falling behind” in a hyper-comparison culture

  • Social media–driven self-doubt and identity confusion

  • Burnout before their career has even fully begun

  • Difficulty setting boundaries with family or partners

  • Navigating relationships in the age of dating apps and ghosting

  • Financial stress, student loans, and rising cost of living

  • Climate anxiety and global instability

  • Feeling responsible for social and systemic change

  • Growing up online and struggling to disconnect

  • Loneliness despite constant digital connection

  • Perfectionism and fear of making the “wrong” choice

  • Recovering from childhood emotional neglect or high expectations

  • Struggling to trust themselves when everything feels uncertain

You’re needing the space and time to process what you’re going through so you can make it through this in between phase.

You don’t have to rush your way through this stage. With the right support, this “in-between” can become a place of insight, steadiness, and growth. IFS therapy can help you not just get through this but thrive in this stage.

What is IFS Therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a respectful, non-pathologizing approach to healing.

Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with me?”
IFS asks, “What part of me is trying to help?”

Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach to psychotherapy that helps people understand and heal the different “parts” of their internal world. Rather than focusing on what’s wrong, IFS therapy explores how protective patterns develop — especially in response to anxiety, stress, or past relational wounds.

We all have parts —
the overachiever,
the anxious planner,
the people-pleaser,
the shut-down protector,
the inner critic.

These parts formed for good reasons. They were adaptive. Protective. Necessary at the time.

Through parts work therapy, you learn to relate to these patterns with curiosity instead of criticism. As you build awareness and compassion toward your internal system, anxiety often softens and emotional regulation improves.

At the center of IFS therapy is the belief that everyone has a calm, grounded core Self — capable of clarity, confidence, and connection. Healing happens not by eliminating parts of you, but by helping your internal system work together in a more balanced way.

What we will work on:

In our work together…

You’ll learn to:

  • Notice your internal patterns without judgment

  • Understand where they came from

  • Build trust with parts of you that feel reactive or stuck

  • Access a calmer, more grounded internal leadership

Over time, many young adults experience:

  • Less internal conflict

  • Reduced anxiety

  • Greater emotional regulation

  • Stronger boundaries

  • More confidence in decision-making

  • A clearer sense of identity
